No more break-up songs (well, maybe just a few). Working on a different kind of music now, with meaning and purpose. Telling human stories in challenging times.

 

GHOST ON THE ROAD, recorded at Hammond House Studios in Lincolnshire, is the fourth track released from my forthcoming album, SHORELINE, which imagines human stories and mythical tales in a world of rising sea levels. Inspiration comes from the poetry of children, the creatures of legend, and the sonnets of Shakespeare.

 

The title track from the album, released in January, featured a bluesy harmonica and a laid-back vibe. GHOST ON THE ROAD was inspired by memories of a road trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway through the Appalachian Mountains from West Virginia to North Carolina. The track was recorded in West Bridgford, Nottingham, and at the Hammond House studios in Lincolnshire, England. The independently recorded guitars, mandolin, drums, vocals and signature harmonica were layered and enhanced with a Spectrasonics Omnisphere synthesiser.  ​
